Hi my name is Duane Moonias. I am 22 years old and hail from Neskantaga First Nation. I am a father to my daughter Cherish, a husband to my wife Joanne, son of Peter and Maggie and the youngest brother of four siblings. My hobbies are music, socializing with my peers, recreational activities and working day by day with the young people. I have been in the Youth Council for 3 or 4 years and have learned a lot about being a leader for the youth. The good thing about the Decade is being a part of the future endeavors our council is trying to build for our young people. We strive for the betterment of our lives and yours, to gain access to the resources and to assure that youth are educated with the way of life. On the political side of things, it is my responsibility to assure that our young people are given equal opportunities to better their own lives and enhance their abilities. Striving for a goal can sometimes be hard, but believing in you can always be easy I enjoy this experience every single day. This is where the learning of being a leader has taught me many challenges and how to overcome the obstacles. Youth development has always been a priority and that is the goal that our Decade has strived to succeed. In closing, I would like to encourage the youth. Set your goal, achieve it and make us proud. Youth are the present and future leaders of the today and tomorrow. Meegwetch, Duane Moonias
